Does COPPA apply to us if children are not our target audience?
Possibly, yes. COPPA applies when a service is directed at children or when you have actual knowledge that under-13s use it — and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code applies whenever children are likely users. If your subject matter, art style, or marketing appeals to kids, regulators will treat you as child-directed regardless of what your terms of service say. We assess this in discovery and design the account model accordingly.
Should we build a custom LMS or start from Moodle / open-source?
If your differentiation is the learning experience itself — adaptive paths, novel interactions, a specific pedagogy — build custom, because you will fight an off-the-shelf LMS at every turn. If you mainly need standard course delivery for a known audience, a customized open-source base ships faster and cheaper. The expensive mistake is heavily forking an open-source LMS: you inherit its complexity and lose its upgrade path.
Do you support SCORM and xAPI?
Yes. SCORM remains the lingua franca for corporate training content, so player support matters if customers bring existing libraries. xAPI (Tin Can) is what we reach for when you need granular event-level learning records — it captures activity beyond the course window and feeds real analytics. Which one you need depends on who supplies the content and who demands the reporting.

Instrument from day one: event-level analytics on lesson completion, assessment scores over time, time-on-task, and cohort retention curves. Then compare against a defined baseline — prior cohorts, control groups, or published completion benchmarks. Districts and enterprise buyers increasingly ask for efficacy evidence in procurement, so the analytics pipeline is not a nice-to-have; it is part of your sales collateral.
