01 — Device

Sensors on metal

Location pings go to a time-series store with downsampling policies (full fidelity for 30 days, hourly aggregates after); vehicles, drivers, and shipments live in PostgreSQL. Mixing the two in one table is the classic scaling mistake.

WebSocket-driven live maps, configurable alert rules, and historical replay for dispute resolution. The UI budget goes into exception surfacing — a wall of green dots helps nobody.
